OVERVIEW
The second edition of the Lisbon Economic History and Development Seminars (LEHDS) continues the initiative launched in 2024/2025, consolidating the role of Lusíada University as a space for academic dialogue on economic history and comparative development trajectories. In this second edition, the cycle maintains its monthly frequency and international focus, bringing together researchers from the University of Manchester and other Portuguese and European universities. Whenever the topic warrants it, the sessions will also involve Faculty of Economics and Business Sciences (FCEE) lecturers and students, linking up with curricular activities and continuous assessment within the scope of tutorial classes.
This initiative aims to:
- To promote scientific research in the field of Economic History and Development.
- To foster academic collaboration between Center for Research in Economics and Comparative Development (CIEDEC) and other national and international research centers.
- Provide master's and doctoral students with opportunities to engage with cutting-edge research.
- Integrate applied research activities into FCEE teaching practices.
- Strengthen the internationalisation and scientific visibility of Lusíada University.
