A presente dissertação pretende estudar o processo de investigação e as metodologias conceptuais do arquiteto suíço Peter Zumthor, em particular quando explora os programas específicos para Museus. Tendo neste caso como objeto fundador da investigação o Museu Kolumba, Museu de Arte da Arquidiocese de Colónia.
A dissertação pretende assim investigar e compreender as atmosferas propostas, eminentemente sensoriais e poéticas, caracterizando-as como expressão espacial do fundamento poético. Tentamos, por conseguinte, descobrir de que modo as atmosferas arquitetónicas se revelam na vivência espacial de quem as habita, tendo presente que luz, matéria e proporção são variáveis fundadoras do processo de investigação arquitetónico do espaço.
This dissertation intends to study the research process and the conceptual methodologies of the swiss architect Peter Zumthor, in particular when exploring specific programs for museums. Having in his case as the founding object of the investigation the Kolumba Museum, Art Museum of the Archdiocese of Cologne.
The dissertation thus intends to investigate and understand the proposed atmospheres, eminently sensorial and poetic, characterizing them as a spatial expression of the poetic foundation. We try therefore to discover how architectural atmospheres reveal themselves in the spatial experience of those who dwell them, bearing in mind that light, material and proportion are founding variables of the architectural investigation process of space.
